THE ORIGIN OF FALSE ALLEGATIONS AGAINST HON SIMAM

FAILING ALLEGATIONS & POLITICAL WITCH HUNT AGAINST HON PERIS SIMAM

Eldoret South is today distinguished nationally as one of the best managed constituencies in Kenya.  The Citizen Report Card 2011 by National Taxpayers Association which assessed how millions of shillings of public funds meant for constituency development were used in the 210 constituencies in Kenya, ranked Eldoret South Constituency as the THIRD BEST managed in the country. Hon Simam is determined to retain and enhance our constituency’s model status by rising from the position three to a sustainable lead in the duration of her mandate.

Simam leadership track record is so much unique and excellent to an extent that it doesn't impress her competitors. The corruption case against her that  is still in court is termed as political witch hunt as there is no tangible evidence against her. Some people are were not impressed when Eldoret south Constituency was ranked  3RD BEST constituencies in Kenya by Citizen Report Card Agency on efficient use and utilization of CDF in 2011.

Eldoret South being ranked 3rd best countrywide has not impress some quarters. Her opponents and some of  CDF corrupt officials she sacked for alleged insubordination  and misuse of funds have ganged up with EACC to implicate her in the misappropriation of public funds that doesn’t exist.

Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission in my view is interfering with the running of CDF projects in the Eldoret South constituency. For the last two years, the anti-corruption body has been used by Hon SImam political opponents to frustrate the implementation of projects in the constituency. Contrary to recent media reports that the constituency offices have been closed, the office is still open despite constant interference by the anti-corruption body. There is an anti-corruption commission officer based in Kisumu who is working closely with her political opponents to disrupt implementation of key projects in the constituency. This is a big shame for such a credible commission that was constituted recently to be used to frustrate development.
Hon Simam inherited many CDF ghost projects in 2008 that were under the watch of former MP, David Koros. Some of the ghost projects include:
·         Asuriget and Chebaywa markets each allocated Sh1 m.
·         Koiluget dam allocated Sh1.4 m
·         Building of 4 classrooms at Mkombozi secondary schools allocated a whopping Sh4.5 m

As a local mwanachi, I challenge the anti-corruption agency to also investigate these ghost projects that is being blamed on Hon Simam. The anti-corruption similarly must do speedy investigations into what they claim to be ongoing corruption in the constituency.
The public should also know that the sacking of Eliud Mutai as constituency chairman and Gilbert Tenai over the mysterious disappearance of a Sh600, 000 and Sh100, 000 cheque for Langas Primary School and a cattle dip respectively is what has triggered the problems that affects Eldoret South to date.Gilbert Tenai has close ties with David Koros and is seen as a  project to destablize Hon Simam development record. It is in the public domain where former MP is residing politically. His closeness to Chairman of a certain political party that has drastically lost popularity in Rift valley makes the recent corruption allegations questionable.
One of the sacked officials has been collaborating with the anti-corruption agency to confiscate files without proper reasons for projects that have been certified by road engineers for payment. Kapkaggaron-Nganiat, Bindura-Chepkoya and Kamuyu-Ndungulu roads grading have been done but contractors have gone without payment for the last three months.
The immediate FORMER Eldoret South MP has kept on blaming his successor on corruption  allegations that are still in the court. Some unconfirmed sources alleges that the former legislator is the architect of the false allegations against Hon SImam as he is not impressed by her popularity and  excellent development record. It is also alleged that he  is closely linked with some sacked CDF officials and have ganged up with them to spoil the good reputation of Hon SImam.

Some of the projects Simam is accused to have stalled happened during Former MP tenure and the Hon Simam has revived the stalled projects. Allegations that are under court of law should not be propagated  in rally meetings as was witnessed when the former MP recently Spoke at Ngeria trading centre in Uasin Gishu county during a funds drive in aid of a kidney patient.

The former MP is also alleged to be, a close ally of ODM national chairman. It is therefore evident that he is there to use all possible means to scuffle Hon Simam vibrant tenure so that the misdeed he committed during his tenure are hidden.. His tacktics of intimidation was recently seen at the burial of New KCC Director Joseph Kogos where Simam was booed by a group deemed to be supporters of Hon Koros.

In my Opinion, URP is the party that I believe will guide Kesses members in the rightful political direction come the next general election although it is a democratic right of anyone to join any party. Kesses, will largely rely on the advice and goodwill of the URP leader. Pertaining to the Presidential candidate we should rally behind URP party leader. Some political leaders in Rift Valley Province should stop misleading the community into supporting parties that are led by greedy and corrupt old guides as was recently exposed by a famous lawyer

Simam has always used effectively the CDF kitty for development purposes. It is  evident  as you travel in the wide Eldoret South.. Her political opponents are out there to tarnish her name and to scuttle her chances of retaining the seat in the up coming general elections. Simam still has goodwill for all the constituents.

In the next article i will explore the allegations against Hon Simam which are politically motivated.
